Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th 1889 in the small town in Austria called Braunau, near the German border.
Adolf Hitler had a very strict father, Alois, who always abused Hitler from a very young age. The reason for Alois being extremely strict to Hitler was because of Hitler’s older brother who ended up in jail for theft. Alois determined that Hitler would not end up in the same place as his older brother so Alois has decided to be very brutal to Hitler.
Alois wanted Hitler to join the civil service in Brannau but Hitler’s dream was completely different from Alois. Hitler wanted to become an artist. Supporting Hitler’s dream was his mother, Klara, who was very caring and often took Hitler’s side.
At a very young age, Hitler showed great intellectual potential and had great leadership. However, when Hitler was in secondary school, he was not very popular and had few friends. He rarely worked hard at school, and at the age of thirteen, Alois has passed away and Hitler had no strong influence to keep him at school. Soon he dropped out of school.
Later he started his political career and at the same time he continued to follow his dream of becoming an artist and has applied to art college but soon his dream and life was shattered when his mother, Klara has died with cancer. Later he has gotten a rejection letter from Vienna Academy of Art.
For few years Hitler spent his life in a small house painting post cards which he hoped to sell. About 1908, he started to develop a hatred toward Jewish people. Because he was convinced that Jewish professor has rejected his artwork, Jewish doctor was responsible for his mother’s death. By 1910, Hitler’s mind had a very strong hatred feeling toward Jewish, known as anti-Semitism. He also wrote the hatred feeling toward Jewish people in his book Mein Kamph.

In August 1914, he joined the German Army but he was not a good soldier, he rarely went out with his comrades when they had to leave from the front to fight. Still, he gained the rank of corporal, earning accolades as a dispatch-runner.
Even though he was disliked by his comrades, his bravery was recognized by his officers. Soon Hitler was awarded Germany’s highest award for bravery. In all six years that he served for German army, he gotten six medals for bravery.
In 1918, Germany was surrendered and Hitler was blinded by mustard gas attack. While he was recovering at a hospital, he fell into a great depression, cried for hours on end and felt nothing but anger and humiliation. Then he had convinced himself that the Jewish people had been responsible for Germany’s defeat. He believed that Germany would win if the nation had not been “stabbed in the back” by the Jewish.
In 1919, Hitler attended the meeting of the German Workers’ party as a spy for the German Army. Hitler quickly cemented his reputation as an engaging orator through his passion. By 1921, Hitler was the leader of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party which is also known as Nazi Party.
Hitler was able to make Germany recover from harsh economic conditions and rapid inflation. By 1923, the Nazi’s had 56,000 members and increasing number of supporters.

Hitler decreased the number of unemployed citizens on a massive rearmament program, suing propaganda and manufacturing enemies to prepare the country for war. Hitler’s action was ignored by other powerful countries as they believed appeasement was the only way to avoid war.

His plan was to conquer the East Europe. He invaded Russia which was one of his biggest mistakes. The German army found themselves in the Russian winter without an adequate supply. At the same time, the Western Allies were pushing hard, and began to advance on Germany. Hitler has recognized that he had no chance to win the war and was surrounded with atmosphere of terror and suspicion.
